Metallated porphyrines (metalloporphyrines) are known to be good
catalysts for asymetric epoxydation. Enantiomeric
excesses can reac 90 % and these catalysts are quite
robusts (more than 5500 turnovers).
It was then interesting to investigate the properties of other
metallated macrocycles, like corrole.
This
study dealt with the synthesis of chiral corroles,
from the condensation of pyrroles and different
aldehydes.
