Percolation in a model system
This system, simply constituted of micelles and connecting polymers, is a model of transient network. One can separately change:
- the distance between micelles by water dilution
- the number of polymers per micelle,
thus tune the probability of “bridges” between micelles and the viscoelastic properties of the medium.
We studied the mobility of the micelles in their “flower” conformation and their diffusion when trapped in giant, recombining clusters.
This was part of a much larger project, developed by L. Cipeletti, G. Porte, et al.
